Dr. J. Davis Martin grew up in New York as a foster
child. After serving in the U.S. Army as a
Photojournalist and Editor, where she was nominated for
most improved publication military wide, she moved to
Florida to attend college. She graduated Summa Cum Laude
and first in her class from St. Leo College. She
received her Masters and Ph.D. from Mississippi State
University in Starkville, MS. She was a guest speaker at
the faculty convocation in 1984 for her work in
Neuropsychology, a field still in its infancy at that
time. In the same year, her work in Career Counseling
Development and Gifted Adolescents at Mississippi State
University's Summer Scholars camp was so well received,
that the program she developed is still in use today.
Dr. Martin has the following expertise:

analyses and research projects in the public and
private sectors.
- 26 years experience as a professional writer and
editor.
Throughout the Southeast, Dr. Martin has conducted
workshops on a wide range of topics and has done
interviews and Public Service Announcements (PSAs) on
television, radio, and in print. As a writer, Dr.
Martin's fictional short stories and historical
perspectives have been read around the world. She also
serves as a freelance editor for Psychological
Assessment Resources, Inc. and as an author for Exam
Master, Inc.
Dr. Martin has been a volunteer in her community
in a variety of settings since she was 16 years old . In
1985, she was named an Outstanding Young American. In
1988, she was honored with the Outstanding Community
Service Award in Pensacola, Florida. In 2002, she
received the Child Advocacy Award.
